A Day of Giving Back with Pelican Harbor Seabird Station

Recently, over 20 members of the Ballyhoo Media team came together for an unforgettable day of service at Pelican Harbor Seabird Station.

As part of our Blue Beacon Program, which reinvests in the communities we serve, we rolled up our sleeves to help restore critical habitats, clean up the shore, and care for injured wildlife. From sanitizing facilities to feeding the animals, every task was a reminder of the impact we can have when we work together. The team also received a behind-the-scenes tour, where we gained a deeper understanding of the incredible work Pelican Harbor does to rehabilitate and protect South Florida’s seabirds.

One of our highlights of the day was having the rare opportunity to release a rehabilitated laughing gull back into the wild, a powerful reminder for us of why this work matters. 

As OOH advertising continues to evolve, brands and media companies are being challenged to show their commitment to their communities. Ballyhoo’s efforts prove that OOH media, especially in waterway transit, isn’t just about ad space, it’s about creating meaningful community engagement.

In the coming weeks, we are launching a new advertising campaign from PHSS aimed at educating the boating community on safe boating practices to ensure they are protecting local marine wildlife.
